Cofounder, Co-Artistic Director of Art of Élan
Currently principal flutist of the Dallas Symphony, Demarre McGill has held the same position with the Seattle Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Florida Orchestra and the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra. He is the winner of an Avery Fisher Career Grant and has performed concerti with the Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Baltimore Symphony and Milwaukee Symphony, among others. An active chamber musician, Mr. McGill is a founding member of the San Diego based Myriad Trio, has been a member of Lincoln Center’s Chamber Music Society Two, and is the cofounder and co-Artistic Director of Art of Élan. He has participated in numerous festivals including the Santa Fe, Music from Angel Fire, Music@Menlo, Mainly Mozart, La Jolla and Marlboro music festivals. He holds a Bachelor in Flute Performance from The Curtis Institute of Music and earned his Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School.
