Video Premiere
Spanish multidisciplinary artist Ana de Alvear’s contemporary work shifts perceptions and perspectives in a way that’s both subtle and transformative. A search for identity pervades her multifaceted projects. Her work is explored through this engaging online video performance by Art of Elan musicians, including Executive and Artistic Director Kate Hatmaker, and featuring the haunting “Spectra” for violin, viola, and cello by Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir. This was the San Diego premiere of this atmospheric work, filmed at The San Diego Museum of Art.
PERFORMERS: Andrew Hayhurst (cello), Travis Maril (viola), Kate Hatmaker (violin)
The Virtual SDMA+ Art of Elan "Identities" 10-minute video premiered on Friday, January 22 at 7:00 p.m. PT on The San Diego Museum of Art YouTube channel and is available for free streaming thereafter.
