Inspired by The San Diego Museum of Art’s “Open Air” exhibit which includes the great sculptural works of Rodin, Zurbaran and Miro, this one-hour concert program took place outdoors in the May S. Marcy Sculpture Garden at the Museum, encouraging listeners to truly engage with the open air and the transformations that take place in nature. Make Prayers to the Raven by John Luther Adams ,Forged Sanctuaries by Jonathan Bailey Holland, and Tree Suite by Hannah Lash anchored this powerful program that featured the Hausmann Quartet, among others.
